Welcome to Once Upon a Prompt ("the Game", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile and desktop applications and our website at ouapstory.com (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the European Economic Area) to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please provide accurate information when registering and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

Because Once Upon a Prompt is a shared, cooperative storytelling experience, the content you submit is seen by other players. You agree not to submit content that:

• is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, or defamatory;
• is sexually explicit, depicts the sexual exploitation of minors, or is otherwise harmful;
• infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
• contains spam, malware, or attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the original story contributions you create. Because the Game is collaborative, you grant us and the other players in your game room a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, store, combine, and export your contributions as part of the shared stories, including in PDF exports. This license exists so the Service can function as intended.

5. Story Prompts

The Game provides scenario prompts to inspire storytelling. Prompts and shared stories are provided for entertainment and may not reflect any real events, persons, or the views of the developers.

6. Service Availability and Alpha Status

The Service is currently in alpha testing and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change, break, or be removed, and stories or data may occasionally be lost. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising out of your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies to you.
